Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher to lead this thriving department as Head of Geology (or Teacher of Geology – dependent on experience) from September 2022. The successful candidate will oversee the strategic direction and the day to day running of the Geology department, providing effective professional leadership and management in order to ensure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.

Person specification

  • A genuine interest in Geology as an academic discipline
  • A good degree in Geology or a related science-based subject
  • Experience of teaching A level Geology (GCSE Geology  - desirable)
  • An ability to work well with others
  • Excellent communication, organisation and listening skills

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the Lower School Science Department from January 2022.

The successful applicant will join an outstanding Department within one of the leading Boys’ Grammar Schools.  The post holder is required to provide technical support to the Lower School Science Department and other resource areas as required by the Key Stage 3 Co-Ordinator.  He/she will join a team of 4 Technicians within the Faculty.

He/she should:

  • Have the ability to work in a methodical and organised fashion.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Some ICT skills would be an advantage.
