During 2020, AGSB has faced huge financial pressure with the new building development and whilst it is impressive and will benefit all the boys, there is a non-financial cost associated with it too, the loss of much needed playground space.
The good news is, the School has a plan which is to convert the existing tennis courts into an all-weather playground, but unfortunately currently they simply do not have the money to do this. With this in mind the PFA would like to raise a staggering £10,000 to contribute towards this project and make sure every boy at AGSB has the space they need to let off steam, kick a ball, chat with friends and just ‘hang out’ at break times.
To help us raise funds, we are very excited to join The Big PFA Raffle 2020, in conjunction with Parentkind, a reputable organisation that supports PFAs. For every ticket bought, you will have 12 chances to win up to £5,000!* At the same time we will raise 50% from every ticket sold supporting our PFA. Your support is greatly appreciated and we wish you good luck!
Deadline is the 7th December but tickets may run out before then, so buy yours today and ask family and friends too!

About the PFA
The Parents and Friends Association, or PFA for short plays a vital role in supporting the school by raising funds for projects that enhance and enrich your sons’ life at AGSB. The items we fund are considered carefully so that the money raised supports them not just academically, but socially and mentally too. Investments so far in 2019 have been large and small, from £13,000 for the Show My Homework App to new clocks for the exam rooms, as well as an ongoing commitment to supporting mental health awareness at AGSB by funding guest speakers and supporting mentoring programmes.
Your son will be at AGSB for 7 years, so in addition to raising funds, our many events including fairs, curry and quiz nights, international evenings and many more allow parents to get to know each other as well as the AGSB staff. This year the PFA have also set up WhatsApp groups for Year 7 parents developing crucial links between parents and school and creating a real sense of community.
The PFA is a fantastic and fun way to meet and work alongside other parents and staff, with the aim of raising funds to support our boys’ in whichever way we can whilst they are at AGSB. The more we raise, the more we can help! Please do support us.
