Year 7
The year 7 Religion and Philosophy course introduces pupils to some of the fundamental questions of life such as 'where does the world come from?' and 'who made the world?'. In addition, boys are introduced to some of the main facts about the six major world religions - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism.
Finally, boys look at some of the early stories of Judaism, especially Abraham and the belief that God is one, and the implications of that for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Year 8
During year 8 boys study the life of Jesus. The course is not confessional, but requires boys to analyse the issues and claims surrounding the person of Jesus before coming to their own conclusions.
Typically, boys critically look at the Resurrection, Jesus as a miracle worker, Jesus as teacher, Jesus as Son of God, as well as the sources available for any Christological survey.
