Unit 10 Religion, Peace and Justice

(a) Describe the teachings of the religion which you are studying about war and pacifism. (40)

(b) Explain how Christians might respond if they see other people being treated very badly by a government. (35)

(c) 'We should bring back the death penalty for crimes such as murder'. Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer and show that you have considered other points of view. (25)

Prepare for this assignment by the work you do in lessons and homeworks.

To answer these questions, refer to the relevant pages in your textbooks, class notes as well as other media you have used (such as video, the Internet, Library books etc.).

For part (b) write in general terms about how someone might respond, but also include particular examples to illustrate the point

In part (c) you should argue from both points of view before coming to a conclusion in order to achieve the top level available.
