What is PSE?

 

Personal and Social Education aims to enable each student to develop into a healty, well rounded and responsible adult. Through a wide range of ACTIVE learning styles, PSE lessons encourage every student to participate fully and discuss, reflect on and form their own opinions and views.

The schemes of work have been structured in order to facilitate out aims in teaching he whole child, use the materials to stimulate discussion and allow for pupil participation.

Each unit allows for a range if tasks and variety of learning styles, ensuring they are utilized to maximum effect for the pupil

 

PSE Aims

 

Arrow2 Develop students fully in all areas of school life through a happy and caring atmosphere and a relevant, stimulating and balanced curriculum.

Arrow2 Develop positive self-esteem necessary for responsible independence and acceptance of relationships with others.

Arrow2 Develop and an appropriate set of values and a moral code to enable them to become responsible and caring members of families and communities

Arrow2 Develop open and questioning minds, prompting a life long love of learning and understanding of themselves and others

Arrow2 Develop skills such as decision making, assertiveness and cooperation; enabling them to become more effective as individuals and as pat of a group.

Arrow2 Develope motivation, commitment and self confidence so that they make sense of the subject taught curriculum.

Arrow2 Develop awareneess of the various influences of their behaviour, enabling them to make positive and healthy choices about their behaviour.

Arrow2 Develop listening skills and the tolerance that this involves.
