The school library is a gathering place for people of all ages and interests to explore and debate ideas.
School libraries are much more than a collection of boks. They are a learning hub with a full range of print and electronic resources that suport student achievement.
The Library provides an environment to enable students to read widely, study quietly, and develop confident, discerning users of a wide range of information sources that are available today.

Access to Searchstar (the library catalogue) together with Weblinks (a database of the best education websites).
15 computers for student use, plus access to a printer.

N.B the stock is continually updated to reflect current needs.

Closed: Thursday Break (Staff training)
1.30pm - 2.00pm (librarian's lunch)
6th Form may use the library for private study unless a class has been booked in.
Activities
Homework Club - mose evenings after school, where pupils can complete their homework.
Lost the Plot (reading group). Meets Wednesday lunchtime, B week to discuss books, reading and the meaning of life!
Participate in the "Kids Lit Quiz" a national competition on children's literature
Various quizzes and competition troughout the year.
The Library Team
The Librarian, Mrs. J. Clarke is assisted, in running the library, by a team of enthusiastic Student Librarians from all year groups and 6th Form Prefects.
Careers Library
Available to students is a well stocked careers library. Materials include prospectus from most Universities and comprehensive information about jpbs and futute careers.
We also have the services of two Connections advisors who see students on a regular basis.
A usefull link: www.connexions-trafford.co.uk. This is a young person's service which provide advice, information, guidance, support and personal development for all 13-19 year old in Trafford.
