Introduction
The Parents & Friends Association plays a vital role in the life of the school. Founded in 1957, it has gone from strength to strength, organising a wide range of social events to raise funds that support many different aspects of school life. The list opposite gives you some idea of the items provided by the Association
over the years.
There are major fund-raising activities in the year, as well as our monthly lottery, the Friends Lotto and our own web-shop, and all the proceeds are put at the disposal of the school to
benefit all departments.
Elections of the General Committee take place at the Annual General Meeting in September and all parents are eligible to stand. Regular planning meetings are held normally on the first
Monday of each month.
We would encourage all parents to become involved, by joining the committee and by supporting the events. The money we raise together will not only benefit your son by helping him realise his potential, but will provide a lasting legacy for future years.
Over the years the Parents & Friends Association has provided the following:
Cricket pavillion, Six mini buses and trailer, Sailing dinghies/equipment, Sound equipment, Apron stage and curtains, Stage lighting, Scientific equipment, Sports equipment, Art/Graphics equipment, Library books, Multimedia equipment , Audio/visual aids, A new School Office, Careers room, Workshop equipment , ICT equipment , Musical instruments.
