Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is now at the end of the second year of its second phase as a Language College. Our aim is to instil a global dimension into the teaching and learning of all students and staff across all curriculum areas. We also aim to work with our Science Specialism to lead improvement in Teaching and Learning across the school.
The impact of the Language College continues to be far- reaching across our school, our partner Primary and Secondary schools and the wider community.
Our staff and students are involved in many international activities, including the ASDAN International Award, Amnesty International, our exchange programme with partner schools in France, Germany and Spain, the European Youth Parliament, British Council Immersion courses to Russia and China and Language College Language Classes for pupils, staff and the wider community. This year we have introduced Chinese to the curriculum for Year 8 and offer new extra – curricular language classes in Italian and Arabic.
Continuing to embed internationalisation across the school and enrich the curriculum, we will ensure that opportunities for cross-curricular work with an international dimension are maximised, including work on the exciting theme of London 2012 and the Olympic and Paralympic values.
